“Voices that feed the soul”
The choral song joins to the towns and of person to person lets them grow spiritually emotional and; there are no border races nor, they are the pacific brotherhood in all its social and artistic purity.
Here, the tracks of the countries come from different courses and make a single destiny: TO SING IN PUEBLA. The brotherhood smiles and on Mexico are expressed in that universal language that is music.
The Normalista Choir of Puebla, from its foundation for almost 45 years under the direction of the Professor Jorge Altieri Hernandez, has the task to promote the Mexican Culture in the world by means of music and to the time, to bring to the poblano society a range of cultures of other countries. It is therefore that since 2000 year, thanks to the support of the Government of the State of Puebla, to the Secretariat of Public Education of the State and to the City council of the City, institute to make in our State this festival.
The World Choral Festival of Puebla-Mexico includes a diversity of public, because it arrives at some municipalities of the State and people waits for this event demonstrating kind hospitality to the groups they host. All this has caused that this event grows up every year.
Throughout their nine editions a total of 75 choirs of 32 representing countries of three continents have participated and a total of 548 concerts have occurred, reason why approximately 400.000 people have been present at this great event.
MESSAGE OF THE HEADMASTER OF THE WORLD CHORAL FESTIVAL PUEBLA-MEXICO

I have been fulfilling, since 2000 year, with the golden dream to bring to Puebla, to my people, the delight to listen to people’s voices of diverse races, creeds and ideologies. Every year we received in Puebla to friends colleagues of countries all around the world whose bring best of their songs and their culture. With many of them, the Normalista Choir has coexisted in other festivales and now we received them with the same attention respectful and interested in good music.
I consider that this Festival contributes with a sand grain for the profit of a better world, when spreading the culture in the aspect musician-vowel to the society and mainly to the childhood and poblana youth, since the artistic education plays an important role in the integral development of the human being. This beautiful event does to beat the hearts of which they have the privilege to listen to these “Voices that feed the Soul”.
Our singing friends have arrived at this city in which during one week they make of Puebla and his provinces, the World-wide Heart of Choral Sing.
Thanks brothers of the world who please to us and honor to us with their visit.
Also I must appreciate the collaboration of the Institutions that support to me like the Government of the State, the Secretariat of Public Education, the City council of Puebla, to the unconditional work of all the members of the Normalista Choir of Puebla that always are arranged to deliver the maximum attack to obtain the organization of this great event and, to the public who appreciates good music and attends the concerts honoring us with his presence.
Thanks to allow me the ecstasy of this celebration and to give the privilege me of being in love with Puebla, of Mexico, of music and the choral art.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF THE ACTIVITIES OF THE WORLD CHORAL FESTIVAL OF
PUEBLA-MÉXICO
Within the activities of the participant choirs, in addition to the conducted individual daily concerts in several municipalities of the State of Puebla, as they are, Huejotzingo, Libres, Cholula, Acatzingo, San Martin Texmelucan, Tecamachalco, Zacatlán, Ciudad Serdán, Zacapoaxtla, Huauchinango, Acajete, Tepeaca, Tochtepec, Tehuacán, Atlixco, Teziutlán, Xicotepec de Juárez and Puebla, the choirs carry out the following activities:
• Visit to the authorities of the State and the city of Puebla.
• General rehearsals of the common scores.
• Meeting of directors and guides.
• Mass in the Cathedral with the participation of all the choirs.
• Close door concert for the recording of the commemorative CD.
• Welcome with all the participant choirs.
• Final concert, where all the choirs take part with individual participations and later altogether accompanied by the Normalista Symphonic Orchestra of Puebla.
• Good bye party with all the participant choirs.
